Obama judge threatens Trump team with JAIL amid deportation battle (2025)

A federal judge on Wednesday said officials in President Donald Trump's administration could face criminal prosecution for contempt of court for violating his order last month halting deportations of Venezuelan migrants under a wartime law.

In a written ruling, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg in Washington found 'probable cause' to hold officials in criminal contempt of court.

He said the administration demonstrated 'willful disregard' for his March 15 order barring the government from deporting Venezuelan alleged gang members to El Salvador under the Alien Enemies Act. The judge wrote:

Colin Carroll, chief of staff to Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg, was suspended a day after two other political appointees were shown the door, Politico reported.

The internal Pentagon investigation was looking into allegations of unauthorized disclosures of information.

Dan Caldwell, a senior adviser to Hegseth, and Darin Selnick, the Pentagon's deputy chief of staff, were put on administrative leave and escorted out of the Pentagon by security on Tuesday.

White House communications director Steven Cheung said the administration would immediately appeal a federal judge's contempt of court against the White House.

President Donald Trump's White House is ruthlessly bashing a Democratic lawmaker for planning a visit to a deported 'MS-13 gang member' in El Salvador.

Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., announced Wednesday that he had landed in the Central American country to visit Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadorian migrant accidentally deported by the Trump administration earlier this year.

Posting multiple videos on his X account, the Democrat shared he intends to visit Abrego Garcia, 29, and advocate for his swift release.

But, in response, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung wrote: 'Chris and his bedwetting friends have shown more concern and sympathy for an illegal MS-13 gang member than victims of horrific migrant crimes.

'He is a complete disgrace to his office and should be thoroughly shamed for his disgusting actions.'

President Donald Trump was furious when he learned Elon Musk was getting a secret briefing at the Pentagon over war plans with China and personally cancelled it.

'What the f*** is Elon doing there? Make sure he doesn't go,' Trump said, according to an official who relayed his words to Axios.

The president was angry Musk was getting the briefing given that the Space X founder has billions of dollars of business interests in China. And Trump vowed that Musk, in his role as head of DOGE, would not be involved in any areas where he has conflicts of interest.

President Donald Trump lashed out at Joe Biden after the former president took aim at him in his first major speech since leaving the White House.

'Who in the hell do they think they are?' Biden said of Trump’s administration, blasting them for creating 'needless pain and sleepless nights.'

She targeted several other alleged infractions by the first Trump administration and the president himself and now it appears Trump's administration is giving her a taste of her own medicine.
